• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hey there guys, I just found an old LPE200 in a box of mine. I threw in a battery and I guess wherever I got it from had disabled the buttons. When I tried to "read" it with Programmer, I put the radio into programming mode, the hit "read". But everytime I tried that the radio freezes on "PROGRAM SELF TEST" and the software says cannot read the radio please make sure its in program mode.

Has anyone else seen or heard of this problem? All I want to do is Read the radio.

Sounds like you are using a ribless cable on a radio with old flash code. Radios with flash code P1R09B00 and earlier cannot be used with the ribless cables. You would need the macom rib with power supply.

To check the flash code version press the "M" menu button and use the up/down buttons to scroll through to the "revision" item. Press the "M" again to enter that item and scroll up until it says "FLASH VER" on top and your flash version will be on the middle line.

Ah that would make sense. Unfortunatly the "m" button doesnt work on this radio. I guess whom ever programmed it disabled all the buttons. So I cant even see what kind of radio this is. All I know is KRD 103 104/A32 R2A

DO NOT ASK ME FOR HELP PROGRAMMING YOUR RADIO. NO.
That doesn't sound right. It's not possible to disable the side buttons. They have to do SOMETHING,
or at least they'll still work to put the radio into programming mode.

I'd pop the case off and reseat the flex connector, then try again.
