Sorry but I forgot my manual in the truck and I'd really like to fix this problem. I believe I set up the scanner properly but don't seem to receive anything.

I posted LT because I can't honestly remember what it's called but the ambulance service here in Ottawa uses it. The frequencies are in logical order and I programed them like it says every second bank. Does anyone have a clue what the hell I'm talking about.

Ottawa FD is on an Analog EDACS System, which is listed in the database. PD is encrypted on the same system, so forget about them. EMS still use a conventional system.

Frequencies for the area
149.605 Ottawa EMS Prov. Tac. - Ottawa CACC PL 118.8
148.210 Ottawa EMS District F2 - Ottawa CACC (OTT2)PL 118.8
142.890 Ottawa EMS ALS Channel - Ottawa CACC PL 118.8
148.525 Lanark Co. EMS "Kingston District" Ch.- Kingston CACC PL 118.8

Changed all the frequencies to FM/conventional and I'm now receiving signals. Is the interference you hear in the sound bite I posted normal or is it because I'm in a basement at this moment.

Update:Were is my attachment? Can we not attach sound bites? You'd think this would be necessary at this site. :) :?:

Getting back to the inter-mod, if you can describe it, there are some Ottawa guys on the board who would know who the likely culprit (paging company) is.

First of all select EDACS trunking mode.
Next, enter all freq. in precise order from Site 001 (Main)
Also ,you must begin at a channel ending in 1,( eg. 1 in Bank 1 ,
101 in Bank 2 ...etc)
So set it up starting at a x01 channel in whichever bank you choose as long as you start at the beginning of the bank.
Do not mix different types of trunk systems together in the same bank.
Anyways, press SEARCH after you have completed the EDACS
programming and the TG's will immediately start popping up.

It's a busy system, at least from what I heard back in July.

Thanks dude. That was very informative. I think I got mixed up when I entered "LT" instead of "EDACS". I'll work on it right now and give my updated progress report shortly.

OK I went back and reprogrammed in EDACS and even though I haven't heard anything yet I'm still curious if it programed in "EDACS wide" or "EDACS narrow? I'm using wide right now.

Update: OK I'm receiving signals but I'm missing most of the conversation. I'm I suppose to hold on the active channel?

It's regular wide EDACS. The only place narrow EDACS would be used is 900MHz (so far at least) and there are none of those systems around these parts.

I also found your EMS frequencies by accident doing a frequency scan on way home today. Thanks again.
