LTR channel numbering

How does one figure out which frequenices belong to which LCN of an LTR system. There are a few systems in my area that I would like to figure the channel numbers out for. They systems are only partially complete so i figured i'd work on them. :?:

I suppose you could use trial & error . In other words,once you know
your home repeater LCN and have it in place, you could experiment with
other frequencies in different LCN slots and see if it continues to
trunktrack the system. Got some spare time ? :wink:

There are devices that display the LCN (or, more correctly, the home channel ID of the repeater that is usually sent every 10 seconds or so).

You can also use some scanners that allow duplicate frequencies - program one channel into each of the 20 LCN channels and see which one has activity on it. That's the LCN for that channel.

The best source are local web pages that may have the system already mapped out.

I think the PRO-97 will even display the home channel ID.
