• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I've gotten data via LTRDump.exe on a local LTR system.

I just don't know how to interpret it.

Here's what I got so far on this 10 channel system:

on frequency 422.2875
Area: 0 (Unknown) C:11 H:11 G:168 F:25

on 422.5125
Area: 0 (Unknown) C:2 H:0 G:190 F:1

on 422.6375
Area: 0 (Unknown) C:0 H:21 G:10 F:6

on 422.8625
(Unknown Type 15) DCC:1 C:263 S:2 G:32855 f:2047

on 422.9875
Area:1 (Unknown) C:24 H:12 G:130 F:16

on 424.5375
(Unknown Multinet) C:838 H:8 G:0 F:804 U:7168

on 424.9125
Area: 0 (Unknown) C:0 H:0 G:0 F:0

I've forgotten what C is but the others stand for Home, Goto, and Free (repeaters).

Looks like you have a fair bit of bogus data which is typical if you don't have a low-pass filtered slicer. A repeater number of 0 or above 20 is bogus. 422.8625 doesn't look like the others; it must be an LTR variant, Passport or Multi-Net.

If you manage to get a consistant Home Repeater (notice I don't call them LCNs) on each channel, that will give you the HR ordering. The rest is nice, telling you what other free channels exist, so you can figure out (eventually) if you have all of the channels in the system.

Eric Cottrell came up with a discrete filtered LTR slicer using one quad op-amp, plus a bunch of resistors and capacitors, if you're interested. I plan to build one myself.

So, how do I determine where this particular channel that I'm monitoring fits into the grand scheme of things?

Is this contained in the ltrdump.txt file?

The HR numbers (OK I'll call them LCNs) are necessary to program thge system into a Uniden scanner, similar to EDACS (the RS PRO-92/2067 scan for sub-audible data and don't need the ordering).
I don't know how to interpret the Multinet/Passport stuff. It may or may not be "real".
