A friend told me that Aerocare is no longer dispatched from Lubbock. It is being dispatched form somewhere from DFW.This explains why Med 10 has been quiet lately from them.

Aero Care is operated by Med-Trans in Dallas. That is probably where their dispatch center is located unless they have some other company providing communications.

I am wondering if this EMS service has migrated to the new Lubbock system. Have you tried monitoring this new radio system? Lubbock City-County Mutual Radio System Trunking System, Lubbock, Texas - Scanner Frequencies

I do not have a Phase 2 scanner. On the old system Aerocare did have a TG , but they rarely used it. They used Med 10 and I would normaly hear at least 4 groups of transmissions daily. The helo would be dispatched on Med 10,they would give a lift off transmission, location during the flight, touchdown time, etc, so it was used frquently. Then the channel went silent almost overnight.BTW Im not sure but I think most of transmission on the Phase 2 system is being simulcast on the old system so if they did use the Phase 2 I would hear it. Not sure ,but I believe the city vehiclse and sheriff are given priority in the replacement of the radios.

Nd5y is correct, they were bought by medtrans last year. Their dispatch center is in Lewisville, that's why Med 10 is no longer active. Might want to check the radio systems there for tgs related to them, or look for new frequencies.

The frequency listed in the database is 463.775. It is licensed to a hospital and there are 11 other repeater frequencies on the license. Maybe they are using one of these: KMD374 (COVENANT HEALTH SYSTEM) FCC Callsign Details

Med-Trans has no FCC licenses in the Lubbock area. Maybe they are using a repeater or trunked system belonging to one of the local radio companies.

463.775 was used by Aerocare at one time, but I have not heard anything in years by them. That freq is also used by a construction co - I dont know if this is why they moved to Med 10.Aerocare was owned by Covenant ,that is why 463.775 is licensed to Covenant. All of the freq licensed to KMD374 has a specific purpose,Such as valet ,housekeeping, security- so it not used by any other freq. Several weeks ago I heard an non familiar voice dispatch Aerocare. The tranamission was really garbled so it must have been done by internet.

From time to time you can hear AeroCare on the UHF Med Channels talking to hospitals in the Lubbock area for patient reports. Also, when they're flying to meet with UMC EMS crews on scene calls you can hear them on EMS talkgroups on both the old EDACS system and the new P25 system (thyey're patched together until the migration is complete)

Here in the DFW area we hear PHI Med 2 and PHI Med 10 on 152.9525 and PHI Med 8 on 160.200, their dispatch and flight following is done from Phoenix, Arizona. I believe Air Evac is controlled by a Satcom center in Missouri. As previously suggested search, search, search for new frequencies.

This press release from Med-Trans might explain it Press Room | About | Med-Trans

If they have moved away from radio communications, that's too bad

Here's a pic I took today of Aerocare taking off from UMC. Wish I had my scanner there to try out close call and see if I could pick anything up

BTW I just heard a lift off status update from Aerocare on Med 10. Sounded like their routine positional stuff with fuel info and which base they were heading too. So maybe you have just missed the updates? Will keep listening for more

ETA: Just heard Aerocare 4 say they were at the airport, dispatch came back and said "I'll show you at the airport". Seems like things are running normally on Med 10 to me?

I've heard traffic from them recently on Med10. I was on their Lubbock helicopter a few months ago (I'm VFD) and they made the comment about not being able to use the city's new system. I looked at their on board radio and they have VHF/UHF/800 abilities but only phase 1 P25.
