Lubbock EDACS/P25 systems

I go through Lubbock quite often, and have noticed that maybe there is still a split between the same agencies across the older EDACS and P25 system. For instance, there's still some dispatch for Lubbock PD on the EDACS, and some PD activity on the newer P25 system.

I thought they had simulcast and that everyone had pretty much moved over to the new system, but, when there was a broadcast on the EDACS, I would turn the knob to scan the P25, and I wouldn't hear the same transmission on P25, and it'd pick it right back up on EDACS when it came back around.

Are they still not completely moved over to the new system yet, or was I just by chance not picking up the simulcast on the P25 system?

99.995% of all traffic is simulcast. I have Unitrunker running on both systems 24/7, and there are very few transmissions that don't sync up. Those that do not correlate, however, are ONLY on the P25 system and NOT the EDACS system. There are a handful, less than 20 maybe, radio ID's that transmit from the EDACS system. For all intents and purposes, the only traffic on the EDACS system is patched FROM the P25 system.

That's not to say you're not having reception problems with the P25 system... Users of the system have the same issues. Almost weekly an announcement is made to Fire, for example, that one tower or the other is down.
