There was some sort of hazardous material spill in the Dallas area tonight. I picked up some very official sounding command center to Operations transmissions about spill containment at a dam. It came in on

159.7575. DPL 031 WPQG415 BREN, JOSEPH W PENOBSCOT KNOB Mtop

Base and mobile traffic, but did not appear to be repeated. This freq is supposed to be a trunked frequency, but it was conventional with a DPL 031. It was not strong enough to be from Mtop, so perhaps they had a mobile command center. I have monitored this freq previously, but had not discovered any obvious identification. There are a bunch of 151.xxx mobile freq's which I did not have programmed at the time.
Mobile
151.6700
151.7300
151.7900
151.8500
151.9100
Fixed Base FB8
159.6225
159.6975
159.7275
159.9225

I have not heard anything on any other channel except 159.7575, but I have only been monitoring for a couple of weeks.

If I had to guess, I would say the traffic on this channel was from some sort of state or private hazardous material company.

Anyone have any ideas.

Luzerne County does not have ther own hazmat team, per se. The county has a contract with both Datom Products and Teem Environmental for hazmat response.

As a side note, only about half (or less) of the counties in PA have their own hazmat teams (either county run or run by a fire department in a county). Datom, Teem, Weavertown, and a few other companies handle responses for various counties around the state.

I did catch some of that activity so I'll keep that freq. in my active scans. I have nothing on the other freqs. you listed so far.

Bob Reynolds pointed out that this is a fireground repeater in the Dallas/Back Mtn area. Doesn't seem to be registered as such, but this thread is no longer valid.
