That's good news. Are you using Pro96com? Could you post a screenshot? I tried that freq this morning, it's not coming in as a control channel. Please keep us informed on anything else you find. Great Work!!

There is a huge discount for LVMPD if the system is up and working for IWCE.

In preparation for setting up my scanner for a trip in June, I searched the FCC database, and found a whole bunch of 700 MHz frequencies that are licensed to LVMPD, not expired/canceled, and not part of the BrokenSky system. The abovementioned frequency is one of them.

There are a number of sites (9, I think) that appear to be a simulcast setup:

771.70625
771.43125
771.16875
770.80625
770.05625
769.10625
771.98125
771.58125
771.29375
771.01875
770.50625
769.60625

...in Henderson, NLV, and a number of sites around Vegas itself.

There are also a whole slew of smaller 1-to-5-frequency sites scattered around the county. The one mentioned in post #1 is Blue Diamond, and 772.99375 is the other frequency on that site.

Here's an Excel sheet I made of the frequencies and their locations. All the OpenSky sites have been removed.

Yah, those are for the upcoming Open Sky replacement for LVMPD using P25 Phase II according to the 9 licenses on file with the FCC. There hasn't been any activity so far on any of them that I've noted. I am noticing a lot more activity on the S.N.A.C.C. P25 frequencies, especially 856.7125 which has been literally hopping with activity this evening. It's LVMPD traffic, definitely, as noted in that other thread related to that discussion:

http://forums.radioreference.com/nevada-radio-discussion-forum/287160-possible-lvmpd-audio.html

As a sidenote, the transmissions of the LVMPD content sound like a simulcast being fed to the P25 circuits so it basically sounds like crap in the long run: a communications system that uses low bitrate compressed audio stream (the original Open Sky audio) is being fed to another communications system that compresses the already crappy quality audio again (the P25 system) so it's like pretty severe generational loss on the resulting audio.

Not the best setup, definitely, but it's functional to some degree. TGID 527 which is the LVMPD Convention Center area dispatch is what's active at this point.

1) It's not an OpenSky system if it's using P25.

2) The very first post in this thread indicates activity on those channels.

1) I said those frequencies are licensed for the Open Sky replacement which is the P25 Phase II system - those new 700 MHz frequencies are licensed for 9K80D7W emissions which is P25 Phase II operation.

2) I said I hadn't noted activity on those frequencies yet, not that there hasn't been something; apparently Dick33 was able to pick something up hence him deciding to create this thread. ;)

I can't monitor P25 Phase II as I don't have a P25 Phase II capable scanner and DSD+ can't do it either (or DSD for that matter) but maybe at some point in the future. Unitrunker can detect/decode P25 Phase II control channel activity however, I may fire that up and let it sit on some of those frequencies and see what happens.

The other issue is that the frequency the OP listed isn't part of the other licenses that are for strictly P25 Phase II operation only - it's a separate license with just 4 frequencies (WQTF437) and licensed for P25 Phase II as well as P25 Phase I so I'm going to guess it's a testing thing only to get things rolling.

Or for interop eventually, since its in my new personality.

Have you guys tried listening to that freq instead of decoding it? Our trunk system being built up here has some channels that are sending P25 "voice" with NAC continuously - a 1000 Hz tone - presumably to measure signal strength.

When you monitor it all you hear is the carrier noise, can't even squelch it out.

There are several test modes available that can generate carriers. The standard 1011 voice is only one.

Are you taking the NAC from a voice channel? Until recently, P25 systems typically used two digits of the system ID and one unique other number to comprise the NAC, so it wasn't unusual to see something like 5F9 on system 5F6.
