LVMPD VHF status

I just watched a new episode of COPS earlier tonight and one of the featured agencies was Metro.

Either the production crew decided to air some old footage or they are back to using VHF Jedi radios.. Can anyone confirm this? All the previous episodes in this season show them using Desertsky.

I would just like an update on the status of open sky? Is it still main system or have metro shut it down and switch back to old VHF system?

LVMPD Still on Sh*t Sky as of now.

And ACCording to a 'roadmap' document I read they will be on ****-sky untill Motorola builds and tests the replacement P25 phase 2 system that will replace ****-sky system. The document specify that the P25 system must work in parallel with the ****-sky system untill the city is fully cut over to the P25 system.

Sucks not being able to listen to metro this year on my trip. Anything else interesting to listen to, besides the snacc and nsrs? I'm staying center strip.

I still hear them on 3 vhf channels 1 info, 9 admin, and 15 Resident Officer Dispatch not completely inactive

Sorry do not remember, the documents said the city needded to acuire frequencies for the system. There is a PDF in a thread in the p2 forum on P25.ca

I'll be in Las Vegas in three weeks and went ahead and put in the VHF frequencies since 'you never know' what may come up.

Depends on what you consider interesting. For my trip this month I imputed highway patrol, fire and a couple of the casinos. There's more that just those three, but I don't remember off the top of my head. Hopefully I'll pick up something good while I'm there.

You would think that they wouldn't have made the complete switch over from vhf if they knew that brokensky wasn't working up to their standards. I mean they couldn't have been completely clueless. Doesn't someone need to be held accountable or is it just going to be another complete waste of taxpayers money that nobody cares about.
