I heard that the Lynn PD has upgraded their radio equipment this past year in preparation for an upcoming change (supposedly in 2020). After learning about this update, I also heard a rumor that this change will have an effect on what the public hears on their scanners. However, I do not know whether they are changing radio frequencies, going to digital, encrypting, or all of the listed?

Does anyone have any information in regard to this change and rumor?

Could be, only time will tell, but there are many agencies who have upgraded to P25 and not added ENC
