• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Anyone using or know of an agency using the 7200 series portables in a dual mode environment. Such as Open Sky and Edacs or Provoice and Open Sky etc, etc. Looking for reports on performance, or problems, or input on an agency that may have them in use.
Besides, M/A Com..i might add.

The 7200 series will not do Open Sky and EDACS at the same time.

I asked a M/A Com person about that at the IWCE Show recently. It uses a different flash code for Open Sky than EDACS.

Interesting, because it states in the product phamplet we received that the radio supports multiple operating modes, including Open Sky, Provoice, and regular EdACs, P25 digital and conventional and analog conventional. And that it can include all these modes or just one. ????????
Thanks, was trying to get some info before we met with them... will have to ask what their definition of multi mode is.. ;]

As I understand it, you can have EDACS, P25 Trunking, and Conventional modes in one flash and DSP Combo and Open SKY, Conventional, and I think P25 CAI in the other format for now. My guess they are working on a flash that will do all modes, but those are expensive options. I currently have a 7100 that does EDACS (analog and Provoice), P25 trunking, and Conventional (analog, P25 Digital, and Provoice) in the same radio. It also does AES encryption. I have one for VHF, UHF, and 800

Can you or anyone here provide a website where it shows a photo of this radio.? For years most agencies show commom use radios as a LPE-200, Jaguar, Mrk-2 & MPA. I am looking for a new taste, different photos of radios made by MaCom for PD & FD use.
