To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.
If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.
To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.
The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is M/A Coms place where they send all their returns etc... I have bought some radio accesories from them and never had a problem... I know they have 7100's listed, but I dunno if they have any in stock right now. They are so new, you may have trouble finding one.

can u hear provoice on one of these radios or do u have to get a special key or something to hear digital on them ?? can people use them as scanners to hear provoice or notta ??

In certian conditions, yes. If they are not encrypted, than yes. A scanner would be cheaper to listen with if the system(s) are/is EDACS analog, but if it is digital provoice, you would have to have a provoice radio. There are also LPE-200's, Jaguar 700P's and also a coupe M-RK's out there with provoice on them.

Yeah, I found a radio on ebay a while ago that was an M-RK that the seller stated it had "Provoice" in it, so that's where I got the idea. But thanks for all of you guys help!

Yes, the P7100 and M7100 will do ProVoice. If you have one that doesn't all you do is get with your dealer and buy the upgrade, they just flash it in. You pretty much pay for the upgrade and it's done while you wait, maybe 5 minutes or so.

ProVoice upgarde can be purchased from a dealer but it takes more than 5 minutes. First, you have to pay the bucks to have it done. Then, the dealer would have to go to M/A-Com to get the feature encryption string to do it. M/A-Com does not hand out the software to upgrade radios with anything. If your talking about purchasing a radio with ProVoice in it, say off of Ebay, there are liscensing issues which have to be taken into consideration. If you never advertise you have the radio, your ok.
