The CO's (Correctional Officers) are linked to the outside world (Fleetnet) through a inhouse repeater (FutureCom). Same repeaters that are in the Transport vehicles. They use the same portables as OPP and MOH (Tait radios- Orca) and transmit on the UHF frequencies but then is simulcasted onto the Fleetnet talkgroups.

I don't think I've ever heard any jailhouse ops on Fleetnet. The odd mobile to base transmission but that's it.

Doesn't look like they've activated the crossband repeaters at any facilities.

I'd have to agree with that. Most of the transmissions from the Barton Jail are "open the sally port door please" and similar vehicle-to-base communications. I haven't heard anything in regards to operations within the jail itself.
