Okay this is going to sound dumb..... coming from a motorola background my 05 head xtl shows system name on top line and talkgroup on lower line can the M7300 do this...... or what does it show?? the M7300 head I have is a CH721 I think

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

think you so much sir…. new to the Harris game ….. last thing i had was a Delta SX with S825 head …. sure miss that radio
Delta SX was my tooth cutting with GE. I still have a few and the rangers.
Still good radios that work great.
anyone have the operation manual for the Harris CH-721 systems head.? like once in the menu how to change stuff…. like backlight i can goto menu and see it but how do i change it.?
I think you hit menu again on the item you want to select. I can’t find the manual off hand and although I have two 100Ms, neither have the 721…

Use the zone/system scroll control to move through the menu, then hit Menu to select it, then use the zone/system control to scroll as needed, hit Menu again to select, etc.
think you…… ok another question in the bottom right of the screen are 4 triangles that flash in random places what’s that mean
ok i hit menu and can scroll through using the zone/system but it i hit menu again it takes it out of menu …. i need to adjust backlight lol
