MA COM system running good in Bay county

well the macom system is now running good in bay county the state decided to lease space of of the 4 towers that we have our smartnet system on, my department bought 10 of the state radios and i got one of them it works good here also the roaming features are starting to work too i couls hear fhp troop A in tampa, i hate to say it but it is a pretty decent system but the audio suck and it shure dosnt beat ous smartnet system lol

Is there any chance that the Bay County agencies would switch to the MaCom system? I vacation in Panama City Beach each year, and would hate to not be able to listen to public safety.

no

no bay county will not they donot like the idea of statewide or bigger radios also we are getting ready to go digital

Are you folks planning on keeping the same talkgroups and just adding digital modulation, or is this going to be a chance to revamp the entire system?

no we are just laying digital over the analog so to speak no changes to the talkgroups
