Hi,

Anybody out there there using Virtual PC on system 10.3 with Starr's software?

I want to know they are compatible before buying Virtual PC.

Thanks for any info.

It should. Simple enough to try, if you already have Virtual PC on your MAC, just download the trial version. Better yet, send Don Starr an email, and ask him.

I attempted to switch from a PC, to a Power MAC G500 Dual 2GHz, and it was "ok". However, Virtual PC (the latest v 7), was too slow to be practial for most purposes. I sold the MAC, and went back to a PC.

I have used it successfully with WIN92, WIN93, and WIN95. WIN96 won't work because of the copywrite scheme used. I'm not sure about WIN99 or WIN97, although I'd assume the same, since they're the ones you pay for. He's told me before that they're working on the issue, but no one knows much about Macs and how they interact with Virtual PC's Windoze environment.

Thanks for replying. Have you figured a way to connect your scanner to your mac?

I figured I could work on the files on my mac and then email the file to a buddy who has a PC for the uploading.

I use the Purple Cable and a Keyspan USB/Serial adaptor.

I have an 800MHz 17" iMac, if that helps :)

This is looking good....I have been waiting for something like this for years.

I don't have the "purple cable", but I do have a serial cable that worked on a PC laptop, so I am assuming it will work with this adapter.

I appreciate your input...it is reassuring to have evidence that it will work before spending the money on an adapter and software.
