With the quantity purchasing agreements and discounts in place in connection to the Safe-T system replacement; it will never be cheaper for them to join than now.

Or to build a in house Motorola system and take advantage of the pricing to buy your equipment.

I dont believe this merger will ever take place, at this pace.

City gets extension on dispatch center decision - Herald Bulletin: News

"Anderson city officials asked for a one-week extension to allow the city council to conduct a special meeting and to vote on the inter-local agreement.
The Anderson city council tabled the agreement in August, and it remained on the table last week, a day after an informational meeting was conducted last Wednesday."

Drove by WGNR on 53rd st. Looks like they might be erecting a new tower.

Was first gonna be a tv station, WCBC i think. Never got on the air. I think there was also a fire.

I found tv allocations long ago, but can't find it now. to much garbage in the search results, but the call sounds right and I believe it was channel 42 in the 50s or 60s that was allocated to Anderson.

EDIT - it was channel 61 that was allocated to Anderson 1955

Negative. Possibly join SAFE-T, but it will not be an IDPS system. There will only be 3 systems per Indianapolis DHS planning for IDPS TRS Implementation through 2016. As far as I know though, it will be ASTRO-25 Phase 1, and fully compatible with SAFE-T P25.

That would be surprising. It is slated to become an SAFE-T Simulcast Site in the not to distant future, so I actually expect it to have its own "core". Otherwise they will need to completely reconfigure it for that transition, which means reprogramming the entire system. Unless they merge IDPS TRS into the SAFE-T,... Which at the current time, is really not going to happen. And as previously stated, the planning for the implementation of the IDPS Communications Systems calls for 3 subsystems of the IDPS TRS. Which is now done. 1: Marion County Public Safety, 2: Marion County Operations and Utilities, 3: Hamilton County. If you can show an MOU with IDPS I may actually believe that 4: Madison County a possibility.

What's surprising is that they don't just go all out from the start and be SAFE-T. It would save a lot of money to begin with to do so. Instead they are going to spend in reality close to 12 or 14, not the 8.1 they say now to upgrade from the old LTR and UHF systems. All of the HT's, Mobiles, Consoles, and the Repeaters and linking has to be replaced. The bill will go up, it always does.

Good luck trying to acquire accurate info. I've talked to about three different people. One from EMA who said they already have the new radios and they're programmed. Which makes no sense. Another said their still getting through the end of the funding hurdle and planning infrastructure. I would really like to know the true current position as well.
