Everyone will be on SAFE-T simulcasting by November, and hope to begin using IDPS S4 by Summer 2016. They say Spring, but everyone won't be on full time and the whole simulcast running properly till more likely first of Summer. Assuming no delays due to weather, politics, contractual crud etc....

There are always delays. We can only hope they are extremely small.

The patch is not active right now but the radio (59764) Affiliates at regular times. Also same with MC Fire dispatch(05384), MC Law dispatch(05387) and two hospitals(D6) on their tgs.

I heard two MCSD units asking about when are they supposed to switch to the state radio system...this week or next? Neither officer was sure.

EMA should make the switch to safe-t tonight....I'm still not sure if the Sheriff's Department will join as well.

From reliable sources: "Things are in kinda flux with the new system and there will be changes from original plans...." And yes, "the powers that be" are indeed watching these forums guys.... And the db .... So I am going to exercise caution and will not post anything that could be "dangerous"... As always, what is learned from monitoring is legal, and can be added as found. Just remember that anon is always respected when submission of data is concerned. If you request to be anon, it is always kept anon. We always like Mr./Mrs. A Non Ymous to have his/her privacy. :)

MCSD sounds pretty good on the new system. No distortion, but at times some transmissions can be a bit muffled. However, dispatch is nice and clear.

I am very glad to hear that "the powers that be" are watching these forums. Nothing here in this forum is illegal. Sharing information is what radio reference is all about. During my years in public safety there were many times we were aided by citizens listening to their scanners. I found them to be a great resource. One time in particular we had one of our guys in trouble, he was calling for help, but dispatch was on another channel and did not hear him. Fortunately, a citizen listening to his scanner heard his call for assistance and called dispatch to inform them. That's just one example of many.

There's been a lot of radio traffic this weekend in Madison county on the state system. A multi-agency "active shooter" training was conducted at the Lapel High School. Most of the radio traffic was on 48 OPS-2, however, MCSD dispatch made an announcement stating that training was on 48 OPS-2, 48 OPS-3 and TAC D-4. I was wondering if anyone knows what is TAC D-4?

I believe it was 8-Tac-94D. I heard them mention that talkgroup Saturday morning, before they started the training scenario.

Your probably right, I only caught the last part of the transmission. Is that ID showing up on the Safe-T system?

That is an conventional chan. It is 853.01250 RM 8TAC94/94D Public Safety Tactical 94 156.7 PL analog. The D stands for Direct, not using the repeater. So you'd have to be pretty close comparatively to hear them if they were on the HT's.

It's nice to be able to hear MCSD with such a clear signal. Where I live, I haven't received a MCSD strong transmission since the VHF days back in the late 70's. The LTR system was never very strong. Also, There has been radio testing this week on 48 Fire.

Is Anderson expected to make the temporary switch to Safe-T or will they ride out their UHF system until the new system is ready in Summer of 2016?

Same here in Hamilton County. This the first time in my scanning hobby I am new agencies on my scanner simply by doing nothing. In the last week or so I started hearing Madison County along with some of the local departments on SAFE-T.
