Is Anderson expected to make the temporary switch to Safe-T or will they ride out their UHF system until the new system is ready in Summer of 2016?

Last I heard, APD was going to be sitting tight on UHF primarily until they get the entire shebang (mobiles, HT's, consoles etc) in place for the IDPS S4. As far as I know, they also have some of those P25 HT's that the rest of the County got, but no idea if they will be using them like everyone else is. I have no "reliable" sources in AFD so can't speak for them. I do know that APD has capability to use SAFE-T SWMA's and RMA's if they need to via patches etc.

I've been hearing more radio tests being done on Safe-T tag 48 FIRE. I think they are trying to fine tune their plan to simulcast AFD & County fire dispatch. Earlier attempts had a lot of distortion in the transmissions.

I'm not very familiar with the Pro-92, but I don't think it will receive Motorola type 2. Next spring or summer the entire county will be on the IDPS System 4. That will require a scanner that does digital P25 Phase 2. You can check them out at Police Scanners, Radios, Programming, Accessories | Scannermaster.com.

As SAFE-T is an rebanded system things you need to now re: PRO-92

The PRO-92 ORIGINAL will work fine for analog activity on the SAFE-T.
The PRO-92 A or B will NOT work on rebanded systems.
As most traffic on SAFE-T is digital, the 92 is useless for that.
SAFE-T is upgrading to pure P25 over next year once things finally get rolling. The 92's can NOT to P25.

Is anyone else having difficulty receiving Anderson Fire? It seems that all of sudden their signal strength has been reduced. The signal is normal on FG-1, the problem just appears to be on the 453.0750 which is the main dispatch channel.

I saw mentioned above that Madison County will be going to digital P25 Phase 2 eventually. I am guessing that will mean that my BCD396XT will no longer work for Madison County. Is that correct? If so I will need to upgrade to the BCD325P2 then. Bummer because I just recently lost use of my BC346XT when the county went digital.

I think it's going to be awhile before they go to Phase II. Your 396XT should work fine for at least a few years.

The IDPS, and SAFE-T systems will not be introducing Phase 2 (TDMA) until near 2020. That gives you at least 4 years to upgrade your gear.
IDPS is an Phase 1 (FDMA) system. SAFE-T is converting to an P25 Phase 1 system, but is now 4 months or more behind due to various delays in rolling out its first of 6 phases of development.

Anderson fire main channel is back up to full power strength. I'm not sure what was wrong, but their signal is now loud and clear.

About 16hrs ago, Muncie, Ball State, Del Co Sheriff, and State responded to a shots fired with blood throughout the building in Muncie.

You might have picked up that traffic somehow.

Radio Techs are tuning up one of the old VHF fire frequencies for a new life.
That being 154.4/153.89 CT 203.5 with voice & digital data or control functions.
