Correction
The Med Channels for AFD are wrong. The correct frequencies are the following:
463.0000 Med-1 St. John's Hospital.
463.0250 Med-2 Community Hospital.
These are the same as the statewide common medic/ems frequencies. I'm not sure about the PL Tones.

BTW: AFD Medics go to the pad at St John's for transport to the ER. The new ER will have a pad on top. St John's freqs: 462.95(Security with A-PD units), 461.0625 & 461.825. Communities freqs: 462.925 FB2 paging (no input listed) & 463.4375 HHs to FB2. PLs unknown

The FCC is working on issueing a license to Anderson, City of. Licensee address is 44 W 5th St (Fire dept HQs). On a tower located at 2230 E 8th St ( Fire station 7). Frequency is 453/458.5125 FB2 FX0 MO. File # 0002907665.

This tower is located at station 7. As I understand it, when it is up and running the units will use buttons on the radios to mark "enroute" and "on scene". It is designed to cut down on radio congestion during an event. But it will make it rather difficult for the first arriving units to give a size up by pushing a button. This does explain the new frequency. The front office of the FD is advising this feature will not be operational for awhile.

That new license for the fire dept got issued on 2/16/07, WQGK806-PW. 453.05, FG3, has been linked/patched (w/delay)to rural dispatch all morning. Also a rumor , PHI/DOVE helo may land at St John's new pad on the roof about noon. I don't know if this is a new helo, or its new home.

Hate to see those oldies go away as well. It was very confusing though to remember which call sign to use on which frequency especially when switching within the same band. I don't believe the simplex frequencies have auto ID so the call has to be spoken on them. Thankfully for us oldies all of those are 3x3 and not 4x3, easier on the old brain.
