The City of Anderson, Indiana (“Anderson”hereby provides the following, additional information regarding its application for STA.
Type of Operation: Public Safety Ntl Plan, 821-824/866-869 MHz, Trunked
Time/Date of Operation: 24 hours per day, 7 days per week
Station Class: FB2C
Radio Service: YF
Applicant Activity: Applicant is a government entity.
The City of Anderson has entered into a Frequency Relocation Agreement with Sprint/Nextel for the required rebanding of their NPSPAC frequencies. The EF Johnson
radios on which Anderson currently operates cannot be programmed for and will not operate on their new, rebanded, NPSPAC frequencies. Therefore, Anderson had to
purchase new EF Johnson Ascend radios in order to accommodate the rebanded NPSPAC frequencies to which they will be moving. Anderson has, for many years, operated on a
LTR back-up site provided by Lectro-Communications, Inc. Anderson’s new Ascend radios will not function with the current LTR back-up site which provides critical, backup
communications that are utilized by almost all of the City of Anderson’s government and/or public safety agencies.
Therefore, Anderson had to construct and must now relocate to the new back-up site that will accommodate their new Ascend radios and rebanded NPSPAC frequencies. The back-up site will be used for the daily operations of the City of Anderson, as well as the public safety communications of the City of Anderson’s Police and Fire Departments; Emergency Management Agency; and the Light and Power and Water Departments, including the Water Pollution Control Department, as well as many other City of Anderson public safety agencies.
Therefore, for the foregoing reasons, Anderson respectfully requests that the Commission GRANT its STA application.
