City Council approve resolution No 2005-02 for approval of an application for a grant to purchase radio equipment on behalf of 1st responders of Madison County.
It's known if it's police communications or Fire-Rescue only. According to my cousin Donna who works for Madison Rescue she belives it for fire-rescue 800MHz system to communicate w/ Antelope & Pierce Counties & will join the City of Norfolk, too. According to Madison Commissioner said there main problem was that once Madison County paid $23,000 - which is it estimated share of expenses - it would lose control over it. The Commissioner understood though , that the county would miss out on grant money if it didn't join.
