I heard Madison County sheriff on their VHF high band assignment as recently as 2 weeks ago. It sounded like they were on-channel and not bridged from another system.

Although with Hurricane Idalia occupying their attention today I doubt this is the best time for a cutover.

Yeah, they changed aand moved over to something. They were a simple analog system, but they radio silent right before the hurricane hit. I've been trying to find system info.

I ditched my old Radio Shack 200 Channel Analog scanner that I have been using here for 20 years and, thinking that Madison County had switched over to a trunked system, bit the bullet and purchased a Uniden BCD996P2. Unfortunately, by searching freqs, have not found anything.

Also, online, I cannot find any info on new frequencies or systems.

Anyone have any ideas?

Has the FD gone to dmr? I don't see a anything on the call sign for dmr. I do see dmr conv for MCSO. Does anyone know if it is Conv or Trunking?

This is under the MCSO
7K60FXW2-slot DMR (Motorola MOTOTRBO) TDMA data + voice.

You probably already know this but just in case…“DMR”and “Motorola MOTOTRBO” are essentially the same.

I don’t know what MCSO is but if it’s listed in Radio Reference, you should be able to pull the system down from RR into your software program (Sentinel, PROSCAN or Butel) and then “Write” it to the scanner.

The FD and EMS seem to have been left unchanged for now.

The frequencies listed in RR for the MCSO and MPD went silent a couple of weeks ago. I used PROSCAN to write them in my new BCD996P2 scanner. The frequencies for Fire and EMS semm to be continuing to work, although radio traffic for them has been significantly reduced.
