Mag Mount

I know there are ground plane kits out there for using certain mobile antenna's as a base set up, but my question is, what would be the best set up if you used a mag mount. Not looking to use it as my "main" antenna, but I came across Radio Shacks old 2 meter mag mount, and was thinking about mounting up on the tower just to see how it does. Any suggestions ? Thanks

I've temporarily used a mag mount with a cookie sheet before. I don't know how you would go about getting it onto a tower though.

Den, if you're going up the tower you may as well put a worthwhile 2M antenna up there and be done with it rather than fiddling around with junk.
