Going on a road trip, like to hear CB if there is a back up on the interstate. Bringing my pro 2096 along. Will buying an roof mounted magnet antenna (from RS) recieve CB signals better than just using the stock antenna??? If so how much better, is it worth it ($35) ?? Any input is appreciated.

Hell pick up a 30 dollar cb and join in on the ragchewin'.

But yea if al lyou are wanting to hear with your 500 dollar cb receiver (sorry couldnt help it) is CB then yea a CB ant with a BNC connector on it (or just an adapter) will work quite fine for you.

But remember the RS CB ants like to fall apart over 65.

I would strongly discourage you from buying a Radio Shack antenna. As the reasons states above. They are pure junk.

I've actually used the RS magnet mount scanner antenna to listen to CB freqs on a trip before, it did ok. But, it is definately a garbage antenna, I took mine back.
