Hello,

I noticed that Maine and possibly other New England states do not have SMR Trunked systems on 800 or 900 MHz listed. There are several 900 MHz systems in the Portland Me that a frequency search comes up blank.

I was up in Belfast Maine and found a Motorola system on 900 MHz. SysID is 7c3c with a connect tone of 83.72 Hz. Frequencies are 937.5125, 937.5250, 937.5375, 937.5500, and 937.5625. Control channels were 937.5250 and 937.5375. I copied the call KNNX994. Search of frequencies are negative. Searching KNNX994 comes up with a auctioned trunked 900 MHz SMR (Type YD) with no frequencies listed. Licensee is Industrial Wireless.

I also noticed that MBTA frequencies in MA can not be searched by frequency but can be searched by licensee name.

The KNNX994 license is for 937.50625-937.63125. The FCC database is not smart enough to know when you search for "937.5125" that it is within the range 937.50625-937.63125. Most (if not all) of the Nextel 900 MHz Motorola Type II systems are licensed under these auctioned block licenses.

Hello,

How do you get the frequency block info? I tried both the old and new interface of general reports and it only has the licensee information. The only hint of it being 935 to 940 MHz was the license class. Industrial Wireless holds 20 YD class licenses. They have a number of systems around Eastern Massachusetts.

I guess this is a case where trunker is very useful in figuring out the system. I do not normally copy the CW ids of systems but maybe I will do it more. I would not be surprised to find Industrial Wireless with systems all across Northern New England. Maine may be full of Tunked SMR systems.

If you click this link, you should see on the right side of the page "Associated Frequencies (MHz)" with "898.50625-898.63125" and "937.50625-937.63125" next to it.

There are several 450 MHz., and up LTR systems acorss the Pine Tree State, which are not in the database because nobody has submitted them. Likewise, there are many SMRs in the 851-866 area. However, I do believe that Nextel, has snatched many of them up a while back, for network expansion in the more populated areas.
