Early this morning/last night there was a fatal accident on US 6 near Golden/Clear Creek Canyon area. As per Cotrip.org: "US 6 closed between CO 119 and CO 58 through Clear Creek Canyon due to accident. Detour: I-70. Road closure began August 4th, 2013 at 6:37am."
Golden FD's finest (virtually all of them) are responding along with Jeffco Fire NW Foothills units and of course CDOT. Around 0700 the Golden FD PIO was en route to speak with Media. Numerous ambulances, primarily AMR, staged atop a hill and sequentially picked up patients for transport to St. Anthony's. The Ambulance transports concluded around 0705. By 0650 they called for a BUS (evidently borrowed from a casino) to transport FORTY (40) parties' non-emergent to St. Anthony's as well.
