Wonder if anyone else in the Carroll County, Lakes Region Area is picking up some major bleed over from PA.

So far we have picked it up sounding clear as day at work on repeaters A and B, and I also heard a PA PD on the Conway Scenic RR frequency on Tuesday.

There's been some great tropospheric ducting in the past couple days. I've been hearing stuff from down in NC to up in RI.

That's not bleed over. Joseph11 has the correct term, but you could also call it skip.

Correct. Bleed over is, for example, hearing 154.4075 MHz on 154.4000 MHz. Skip has similar results, but occurs on lower frequencies and works differently.

A "band opening" is what a lot of hams often like to call it. :D

Ah, thanks, we've always called it bleed over here, never heard skip before. Thanks guys, you learn something new everyday.

Mostly I've been getting PA Turnpike Authority District 4, and also PASP over the last week.

Too bad it ended. i've been in Moultonborough all Weekend!! But at the CCSO Dispatch Center has a much bigger Antenna than i do.

While were on the Subject, Do you have a list of what towns are Dispatched by CCSO and the Unit ID's, please? i listen Frequently and this would be a major help

Trust me on Pa Turnpike - it's irritating to listen to and often boring (unless there's a major job going on). (For reference, "Highspire" is the control center for the entire Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission network of highways; the town itself is just southeast of Harrisburg. If that were PTC District 4, you would've heard Highspire talking to the PSP station in King of Prussia or the maintenance sheds at Devault, Plymouth, or Trevose.)

Were you able to ID which PSP (non-turnpike) units you heard during this skip period?

Nothing to do with the bleed over, but does anyone know if Carroll County still uses UHF links for Sheriff or Ossipee Valley channels?
