Major protest live on french CBC

As it is now a (sad) yearly event, there is a major protest againts police brutalities in Montreal street going on right now (Sunday afternoon).

This always turns out to be the most violent protest event of the year. :(

Can be seen live now here RDI | Radio-Canada.ca (Feed is slow now ...)

The "garbage" of the society is out there wearing masks, hoods, army clothing and throwing anything they find or bought previously (!!) at police officers.

Don't get mix up, police officer are in a contract dispute for 2 years now and are (also) wearing jeans or army camoulage pants for protest ...

All Montreal PD VHF freq are hot and full of tact talk. Montreal PD (SPVM) DB here : Montreal County, Quebec (QC) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference Channel 1-2 (control center) , 1-7, 1-9, 1-10 are very active.

Over 20 arrest up to now ...

Let's not mince words... they claim it's a protest against "police brutality", but in reality is a violent riot against the police.

It's nothing more than a bunch of savages rioting and breaking everything they can. They once again broke store windows, set fires, assaulted civilians and police and destroyed cars. They were picking up bricks on construction sites along the way and were throwing the bricks at police and member of the media.

I am glad the Montreal police FINALLY put their foot down and cornered, boxed and arrested over 200 of those punks. They also had dozens and dozens of young undercover cops in the ranks of the rioters filming and feeding info to the comm center. Police were VERY well organised for this riot.

Police Protest

I went to observe where the so called protest began at Metro Mont-Royal. It was absolutely disgusting. It was not a protest. It was an excuse to bait the police. The punks were throwing rotten fruit at the police. I saw a least one police car that had had white paint thrown at it. I was standing next to a squad of riot police. They were very restrained. I was watching their faces, it was not anger that I saw, it was fear. This thing could have gotten much more ugly than it did. Kudos to the police for restraint. Later I was watching the live feed from the helicopter and listening to the commos on the scanner. They had their hands full. By the way F.D. were dealing with a wall collapse two or three blocks from and in the direction the "protesters" were going. Cops kept them away. Job well done PD and Fd.
