Is it possible to set 2 offset freqs manually "without" win96..
if so how do I do this???, I have everything else programmed but with only one set of base numbers!!!!... Nobody seems to know how to set (2) base freqs, (2) offset freqs ect..I have (1) set in there but i dont see an option anywheres to let me prog (1) more....

I heard you need both programmed to make the 460 dc system work properly....
I have read old posts but nothing says it is possible without win96....

Help....I dont feel like purchasing the software and the usb wires if I dont need to....

Does anyone understand what i am explaining and if so, does anyone know how to get my problem fixed!@$^%

NO. It is not possible by hand on the PRO 96.

You have *heard* correctly.

Without Win96 and GRE USB Cable, you are SOL.

Yes, some of us understand what you want to do, but what you want to do is not possible. The *only* solution is to purchase a GRE USB Cable and use DonS fine software Win96.

As you have seen in the post just above this one, no it's not possible to program the Pro-96 for more than one custom table without software. However, with that said, you can still program the 460.025 custom table. This will allow you to hear most of the traffic until you can get your hands on programming software. (Without the 453 custom table, you will miss the voice traffic on 453.450).

Hi there!

Anyone local who can help me program this thing!?!

Its manual and all the software assumes that the user is some kind of expert...

I *think* I might have 460 MHz programmed correctly (UHF); not the slightest clue for 850 MHz--have a load of info but not sure where what goes.

DC I'm not an expert by any means, but there are several things I have here that will be a help to you. Anything in blue is a link

It would be helpful if we knew whether you are programming by hand or with software - the 2 most popular packages are the Uniden Advanced System Director (UASD- available from the Uniden downloads area) and ARC396 (from BuTel, and available from Scanner Master). ARC396 has the advantage that, when you become a premium subscriber, you can download data directly from the database. Lots start off with the UASD. Another possibility is Scan Control, which just added a Data Grabber utility that can copy/paste data from the databases. The editor isn't nearly as robust as ARC396's, however.

If you are programming by hand or just want to understand this better, the BR330/BCD396T Easier to read manual is going to be a big help. Most have commented that the Uniden manual is very poorly written

The 460 mhz system requres 2 Base/Offsets to properly trunktrack - although I understand you can get by with 1, but you will miss some traffic. The link above is for ARC396 - I would think the UASD would be somewhat similar.

Speaking of which, the BCD396 Yahoo group has .usd and .mem files in its files area. I quickly checked the .usd for the DC 460 mhz system, and it doesn't have the 2nd offset. Copying a known file is sometimes an easier way to start. I did see that there was also a 800 mhz file in this group for DC fire. Undoubtedly they both need a bit of updating - they're 2 years old - but that should be a simple matter.

Finally, since DMA radios introduce a whole ton of new stuff, our DMA Hints and Kinks category in our wiki lists various topics that you might find helpful. Just click on the topic of interest, and you'll be taken to the appropriate article.

In addition to Mike A's help just above this post, if you want, maybe we can meet up one day to get you operational. That will be up to you... I'm downtown Mon-Fri between 1000 & 1700 hours, but next week will be a little modified schedule for me.

The DC files from the yahoo group only had the four control channels and the 460 had an off-set that I haven't seen before...

I added all the freqs and input the off-sets from the database here... Seems to be working now ;0)

Now for the next part...
