I came across this while looking up SDRs.

Has anyone here tried one out?

I kind of would like a Kiwi SDR or similar, but they're either A ) not available, or B ) rather expensive. Given that this is more self-contained, maybe it could be an adequate substitute for a beginner such as myself?

Figured the waterfall display would eat too much power.
That makes sense.

I don't much mind about it eating power, as I probably wouldn't use it too often, and I'd probably keep it plugged into a charger most of the time when I do.

How does it compare to the Belka, spec wise?

Belka is HF only. It’s a real good HF receiver for such a little box. For the cost, don’t think you will find anything close.

The Malahit DSP and its clones are crap. Horrible user interface, crippled software, limited frequency range and won't even receive LW/MW off a stock antenna. Battery life also sucks - literally. Not worth buying unless you like frustration.
