Just curious if the MFD had a non-trunked simulcast channel that could be heard from the Laconia region.

I have 866.0125 and 154.965 already programed, but will not be in NH until later this summer. I am just checking if those are active frequencies, or if the EDACS is the only way to listen in.

No they don't and the VHF frequency isn't in use. 866.0125 is utilized by portables only as a mobile repeater to the selected talkgroup. The EDACS is the only effective way to monitor them and the range is very limited.

Thanks,

That is what I figured. I noticed the limited range last year. Down here in CT a lot of the cities around Hartford County simulcast on VHF. Just a curiosity.

Nashua simulcasts fire dispatches on VHF and can patch their VHF Fireground frequency into an 800 Talkgroup. Manchester is supposed to have this capability eventually.
