Mandeville PD, VHF or 800?

Is Mandeville PD on the old VHF system, or did they change to the parish 800 system?

I was working in Mandeville last year for about 10 months. I heard virtually nothing on the Mandeville PD VHF frequencies. I believe most, if not all of the PDs in the area (Covington, Madisonville, etc.) and the Sheriff Dept. are using the 800 mHz Pro-Voice system which is not monitorable on any scanner. I did hear some analog activity (a year ago now) on the old St. Tammany Sheriff frequencies. I believe it was being used by the local jail in Covington. All the FD's in the area were still analog on VHF at that time.

Additonal info....All the Mandeville PD cars (and other PD's in the area) have 800 mHz antennas on them. That would indicate to me they are on the Un-monitorable 800 mHz Pro-Voice system operated by the Parish.

All LE agencies in the parish except Slidell are using the S.O.'s Provoice system for primary comms. Occasionally ( very rarely) you will hear some activity on the old VHF frequencies. The one exception is that the parish jail (600) uses old channel 1 for operations. Lots of activity on this channel but it is very boring.
