Lincoln County Jail Inmate Caught At Chandler Gas Station

CHANDLER, Okla. -- A man who escaped from the Lincoln County Jail while talking with his attorney on Monday has been arrested at an area gas station, police said.

Michael Washburn, 28, was being allowed to speak with his attorney when he bolted from the jail, authorities said. He was in jail clothes at the time of his escape, authorities said. However, witnesses said Washburn was in jeans and a trench coat at the time of his arrest, at a local Phillips 66 store.

Washburn was in jail facing charges of shooting with intent to kill.
Washburn had been spotted in a neighborhood in Chandler, police said. Members from several law enforcement agencies surrounded a home where they thought Washburn was hiding. Authorities used a bomb-squad robot to knock on the door. Shortly after midnight, authorities entered the home, but Washburn was not inside.
