Manhunt on for escapee in Jackson County

[FONT=&quot]NEWPORT, AR (KAIT) - [/FONT][FONT=&quot][/FONT][FONT=&quot]Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Newport Police, Arkansas State Police, and Crawford County Sheriff's Department is looking for an inmate who escaped from police custody.[/FONT]


[FONT=&quot]According to Dina Tyler with the Arkansas Department of Correction some inmates were being transported back to the McPherson Unit in Newport after appearing in court by Crawford County.[/FONT]


[FONT=&quot]Tyler says the van then made its way to Crawford County, but when they arrived they noticed they were one inmate short.[/FONT][FONT=&quot] Police are searching for William F. McCoy.[/FONT]
