Hello everyone!

So I bought a brand new Uniden Bearcat CT15x, and the PD I want to listen to uses a Motorolla type 2 smart zone trunking system.

My first question is, is this system programmable with my scanner.

Second question is iv tried to program the frequencies but I'm not sure im doing it right. I either here just a piece of a transmission or annoying feed back. i will list below this frequency site im trying to program.

any help would mean alot.

Thanks!

Mansfield voice traffic is mostly digital. Of the Uniden models, you need a BCD396XT BCD996XT or HP-1 to listen.

As Unitrunker has already noted, most all of the public safety talkgroups (police & fire) are digital, which your BCT15X, unfortunately, cannot decode. Look at the system, and especially the Mode column. Any talkgroup with a "D" in that column is digital. The only police & fire TGIDs that aren't digital are a handful that are set aside for Mutual Aid usage, and one for Careflite. The Public Works groups (water, streets, etc) are analog, as noted by the "A" in the Mode column, but not the main Police and Fire id's.

Mansfield voice traffic is mostly digital. Of the Uniden models, you need a BCD396XT BCD996XT or HP-1 to listen.
Other scanners would include:
Make Model Type
GRE PSR-500 Handheld
GRE PSR-600 Base/Mobile
GRE PSR-800 Handheld
Radio Shack PRO-18 Handheld
Radio Shack PRO-106 Handheld
Radio Shack PRO-197 Base/Mobile

These older, discontinued, Uniden scanners would also work:
Uniden BCD396T Handheld
Uniden BCD996T Base/Mobile

Grand Prairie is another local system where most of the Fire, EMS, & Police talkgroups are digital. Also, Fort Worth is in the process of building a new P25 (digital) system, which will eventually replace the current analog one. See this file.
