I programmed one of these up for a buddy of mine; and for the life of me, I can't seem how to manually select a programmed talk group ID. It will scan all the programmed ID's just fine (in closed mode); and I can pause it on an active ID to hold it, but I can't seem to figure out how to go directly to a programmed ID in a location; say Bank 2, entry 01. I find it a bit hard to believe it can't do that, but I have yet to see anything to the contrary.

I don't believe that you can manually select a TGID to sit on, you have to wait for it to pop up and then press pause like you have been doing.

While I believe that, I still find it a bit; wait, scratch that: A LOT of ridiculous. Even my PRO-94 from back in the day was able to do that...

Thanks for the reply though confirming my suspicions; thank goodness I'm a uniden guy ;)

Manual Hold

While I don't have my 164 here at work I think you can hold a TG. I will double check when I get home but I think you can do a PGM FUNC then scroll to bank and TG you want.

I know on the 106 you would just hit MAN then if you know the Object numer you enter that and then ENT and you don't need to PSE it just sit on it in manual mode.

Apparently, the PRO-95 lacks the same functionality...

And it's amazing because I scored a PRO-2050 at the same time and even though it might lack alpha tags, it still can take a direct entry to a particular talk group ID...
