Does anyone know how to do this on the Pro-96 or the 2096? I know you can do it through the WIN96 software, but I remember seeing instructions on how to do it manually. Thanks!

The first three lines you cannot change without software. The 4th line is the V-folder label which you CAN change with just the scanner. I don't recall the exact steps, however.

I know for a fact that you can do it without WIN96 because I did it on my Pro-96. All I remember is there's a menu you can access when the welcome screen is displayed, then press 0 to go to a menu I think. And it's in there somewhere. It seems like there was a page someone posted that had tips and tricks that showed how to do it.

Arrgh, I've been spending the last hour looking through all the forums trying to find out where I saw this. I know for a fact I changed it because I went into the area to change it and I accidentally erased the last line of the display. I had to ask someone what the last line of the display was because I couldn't remember if it was 'Pro-96' or 'Trunking' which was actually above that line. I'm not trying to change the display. I programmed my scanner with WIN96 and all I'm trying to do is center the welcome display. I don't want to download the info again because I changed some things around since then. I guess I could upload the current configuration to the program and then do it, but it seems like the welcome display was centered before I downloaded the current configuration to my scanner.

Hope that makes sense. I'm tired as hell.

May I suggest you read my above post? Without software, you can only change the last line (the V-folder tag). With software, you can change all four lines. Well, I guess you don't have to read my above post since I really just retyped it.

To center the text in the CHANNEL tags, just click EDIT Justify. That's not available for the welcome screen AFAIK, so just add spaces to center it.

And yes, ALWAYS keep a current copy of your files on your PC for backup. You never know when you may accidentally overwrite a V-folder or overwrite the working memory with a V-folder. Also, periodically save your files to a V-folder - again for backup.

BTW, the default text is:

Welcome To
Digital
Trunking
PRO-96

(all centered)

The only welcome screen you can change without Win9X is the Pro-97. The 93 and 95 cannot be changed at all.

The original question set the topic: The PRO-96/2096. That's what I was replying to. You can change the display on the BC246T, too, but what does that have to do with the topic of this thread? 8)

Also, you CAN change the last line of the 96/2096 without software, as stated previous (twice).
