Uniden's official manual and common programming guidance for this older analog-only handheld model):
Power on the scanner and press MAN (Manual) to enter manual mode. This lets you work with individual channels without scanning.
Enter the desired channel number using the keypad.
For Channel 15 (in Bank 1, but note: the BC75XLT organizes channels as 1–300 without explicit "banks" visible to the user in the same way as older models; it uses a flat channel list but supports bank grouping in some views).
Type 15 then press MAN again (or ENT / E) to go to that channel. The display should show something like "M015" or the current contents.
Press PGM (Program) to enter programming mode for that channel. The scanner will prompt for a frequency (display may blink or show "000.0000").
Enter the frequency using the keypad, including the decimal point:
For 462.550 → Press 4 6 2 . 5 5 0
If needed, use CL (Clear) to backspace mistakes.
Press ENT (Enter/E) to save the frequency to that channel.
(Optional but recommended) Set additional parameters if desired while still in PGM mode for that channel:
Press PGM again if needed to cycle through options.
You can set Delay (on/off), Lockout (L/O), Attenuator (ATT), Priority (PRI), etc., using the menu keys or direct inputs.
For GMRS (UHF conventional FM), the default mode should be FM (NFM might also work, but FM is typical).
Press MAN to exit programming and return to manual mode, or SCAN to start scanning if ready.
To verify: Stay in manual mode, go back to channel 15 (type 15 + MAN), and you should see "462.5500" displayed. Press HOLD or just listen.
