Can anyone describe how tactical channels are assigned within LAFD? LAFD bureaus are mapped and named exactly like those of LAPD: Central, South, West, and Valley. LAPD bureaus are each assigned two tactical channels. There are citywide tacs for larger requirements.
LAFD has an operations channel for each bureau, but there are also dispatch channels for north and south of Mulholland as well as command. I'd like to know how these and the tactical channels and supplemental tactical channels are assigned across bureaus.
Basically, can the tactical channel identify the bureau in which the service call occurs?
