I brought my BCD436 back for the holidays and boy things have changed. I've used the RR database to program the radio and my question is: Is the Marathon County database pretty solid? Is it confirmed for the most part?

I don't see 159.2100 listed anymore. I'm assuming what 159.2100 handled is now on "County Law Dispatch"?

If anyone can give me an update and take the time to explain how the new quasi-digital system in Marathon is laid out I'd greatly appreciate it.

The DB is very up to date. When they narrowbanded, they reassigned some frequencies. Primary Sheriff Dispatch happens on SO1 and SO3. Fire paging and dispatch are all active.

I've been listening to the full RR database the past couple of days and it just seems so slow compared to what I remember years ago. Not a lot of traffic over the air. Maybe agencies are using more MDT communication methods or texting features versus over-the-air traffic. That is why I thought maybe there are frequencies not listed or they're using encryption more than ever for traffic.

Or.... I'm just used to my City of Denver traffic that is constant 24/7.

Your not going to get traffic like you did in Denver here in Wisconsin. Not unless you are in Milw.or Madison and a few other big cities. When I go to see my sisters in Chicago my scanner never stops. But here in Wisconsin things are a alot slower.I`m so glad about that.Thats one of the reasons I moved up here.

I hear you. I just remember Marathon County being much more active a few years ago when everyone was analog. That's why I questioned whether the database was accurate or if anyone had some inside information on changes in how agencies are communicating.

Needless to say, listening to the Denver area then coming home and listening to the Wausau-- it was a bit... boring. :/
