FYI...the 9600 baud TRS at March seems to be active now. I am logging talkgroups (not encrypted either) and seeing activity on the system.

Here are the freqs I've seen so far
mainnj7.gif

8 talkgroups logged so far. I'm going to keep running Pro96Com to see what else it finds.

I have not tried the base/offset yet since I was only decoding the CC from Pro96Com.
What kind of scanner do you have? I am going to play with this tonight and see if I can get it working on my BCD996T. I am not sure the PRO-96 can track this system because it can't do 12.5 step sizes on VHF that I'm aware of. When I plug in the CC it rounds the freq off, but since it's so strong, I guess it can still decode the data.

When I get back home I will post the talkgroups I found. I still have the program running on my home computer this afternoon.

One of the TG I hear Security 1, so maybe they are moving there. Have you heard anything on their old VHF freqs?

Great catch

Hello Brandon, what a great catch! I was hearing some of these over the weekend, 138.1375, 138.4125, 138.5125, 138.6375. & 138.6875 while in Orange County. I wondered where it was located. Thanks for sharing!

I finally had a chance to test iwth my scanner and it seems to be working. I just picked up TG ID #4 and it matched up with what I saw on Pro96Com.

Here is how I programmed into the BCD996T (should be same for BCD396T). Just program these 4 control channel freqs as a new trunk system system (Motorola APCO-25)
138.1125
138.1375
138.1625
138.2625
Don't need to enter any step, offset or anything like that. It is picked up automatically by the scanner since its a P25 system. Hopefully I did it right, you only need control channels for P25 systems right? I've never played with P25 systems either but so far its working.

Here are the talkgroups logged so far
1
2
4
5
7
8
9
16
18
23
36

and 105 radio ID's logged so far

Mick, that is cool you can hear it from OC. How is the signal over there?

I'm thinking the system is at March based on how strong it is. I can hear it very good even with a wet noodle. Hopefully it can be 100% confirmed now that there is activity on the system.

Good morning. The signal is from very weak to not being able to hear it at all. I cannot hear it this morning.

Could you run Pro96Com and click on the site information tab and save then save the system information/ copy and paste it here so we can have a look at it.

A Pro 96/2096 should be able to follow it even with the 12.5 step if they are set up for custom table of-- offset of 8192 step size of 12.5 and the base of whatever your system information read out gives.

The Pro 20/96 will just round off these CC/ACC numbers, but it should still work that way

138.1125
138.1375
138.1625
138.2625

EDITED I believe Jose/Kitko will confirm that they follow the Alaska system just fine even with these step sizes.

Thanks Brandon

As you can see I won't be able to try it out unless I drive about 2000 + miles to check it out:lol: However.

Based on the information above there is only one table being used 02 so you or anyone with a Pro 96/2096 should be able to try out setting up their scanner to look like the attachment using win 96.

Or since it is only one table all they need to do is set the scanner by hand manually on the scanner by pressing the
pgm +trunk while in that bank
Then Func + 2 key set the base to 136.0000 -enter
offset to 8192-enter
and then use the up down arrow key to set the step size to 12.5 press enter
press Func + 4 make sure it is set to 9600 CC MODE TABLE -- ENTER then hit scan

I am only guessing what I posted will work out for you. We don't have 9600 baud system here where I live but Alaska seems to work just fine according to previous post's that I have seen .

So what about Uniden folks? Simply program as a P25 system and go? Or do you need to program one of those 'implicit' tables?

Nice work Randy, you guys got the 96/2096 working on this new system in less then 2 days.

Mike's Pro96Com is outstanding and as you stated, Dr. kitko up yonder in Alaska and Mike have trained you well. :D

Brandon: How does the 96 audio sound?

96 audio sounds better than Unidens...it also decodes better. GRE are still the best when it comes to P25 digital IMHO.

Couple more talkgroups

7 - Heard "March Ground Raider 1"
9 - Lots of maintenance talk about aircraft parts and orders

Two questions...

What version of firmware are you running on the 396?
Have you tuned the quality settings?
