MARCS, again...

Just for the hell of it I programed my 2052 to the Lucas County MARCS system and I can see the ID's, I thought that I wasn't supposed to be able to. Also, has anyone monitored the Lucas County MARCS System yet? And one more thing, Monroe County is patched on 460.175 to the MSPCS right now, there is no backround noise at all! (on the digital radios) Thier old radios had loud pops and hisses. And lastly If there is any possible way someone could send me a short clip from the MARCS system I'd appreciate it. Thanks a lot! 8)

MARCS is 3600 baud, MPSCS is 9600 baud. Older scanners can show the ID's from 3600 systems.

There isn't a Lucas Co MARCS system - it's a statewide system with towers in Lucas Co. There's intermittant traffic on it but nothing useful.

That's the good (and bad) of digital. No pops and hisses, but if the signal is too weak there's nothing at all. In analog systems, you can still make out some intermittant audio and figure out if someone needs help. Now the user gets "bonked" and cannot transmit.

Get ahold of me if you'd still like some MARCS audio. I have quite a few samples of different digital systems from my area. I even have a sample of the TSA's conventional digital system...

I've gotten in the habit of NOT using the AGC, but I have some samples of both AGC on, and AGC off...
