I want to see if others are having issues with receiving MARCS when the weather is overcast?
I first thought my problem with MARCS was because the antenna was inside a car (although that didnt limit its ability to receive akron and summit county's apco25 800 Mhz systems, 15 miles away from the repeater).
However, sundays bright and sunny day proved me wrong. MARCS came in perfectly for once.
Then on monday it was bad again (partial decodes of voice)
Heres an example....<buzzsaw from control channel> Ive got a <beep, click gronk> send wrecker <beeeeep, beep>
Someone must be getting better reception or elsewise Ohios agencies wouldnt be able to communicate.
Ive tried the different antennas and they do work a little better than stock (ive tried radio shacks 800 mhz, but better yet antennex's 2.5 dB antenna)
The problem is there whether its inside a car or not. Ive got a BC-296D
