Just caught 5509 up around st marys area. I bet it is somone around allen county.

5509 seems to be a patch off MARCS of 02-EAST. It is on again, off again, nothing consistent. The strange thing I've observed is that the RID begins with 69 which would put it in Putnam County. I'm wondering if it is a programming error on a radio or something Putnam County is playing with.

Paul,

Are you confident that 59952 was Good Sam Zanesville? I askbeacuse 59948 is already listed in the DB as good Sam and 59944 is listed as Behesda. I'm not saying you are wrong. Just saying that one of the three entries is probably wrong.

That is how it was on the recording - just one xmission - distinctly Morgan # xx to Good Sam.

I do copy them on others - including MARCS - will try to see and note which others they are using.

BTW - Good Sam closes end of June - all moves to Bethesda or more correct - GENESIS

been able to devote a HP to just discovery, it will compare to current RR database , record any new with voise , TG and UID.

Damnit, I did know what that site was likely going to be. But that was a couple months ago. I lost my documentation.

I had read a document talking about new counties / agencies that were coming on board and a couple of additional sites for capacity. I'm sure I'll never find it.

I'll presume this is the existing New Lex site at an improved location?

https://www.whiznews.com/content/ne...mmunication-improves-in-perry-countyanesville as before.

From the picture it looks like the ODOT complex, SR13 on the western edge of the New Lexington Metroplex. I don't recall that there was a New Lex site on the old system, so the state probably struck a deal with AT&T, they build the tower in exchange for co-location rights.

To the best of my knowledge that's the only place the New Lex IP site has ever been... but then it was up and running long before the site was "officially" in service.

The second picture has a pretty good view of low-band and UHF antennas, so it would appear that Perry County doesn't intend to dump their legacy systems.

5534 traffic was Bluffton FD. I think Allen Co Dispatch called it Ops 6 but not certain.

On the current MARCS system, Allen County has no OPS 6. I know that they have been programming radios for IP and it is possible that, with yesterday's weather events, they were forced to use IP. Bluffton FD and PD had more than their fair share of radio traffic yesterday due to flooding in town and on I-75 so it would make sense that they needed an OPS channel. They may have called it OPS 6 to avoid confusion with the non-IP TGs or maybe they will have additional OPS TGs on IP.

New voice channels on Zanesville site - already seeing voice traffic.

Heard MARCS unit coordinating switchover. Maybe switing a freq from MARCS to IP.

Might be a good idea for others that can to check their local sites.

Edit - add 851.75 Dresden site also

Done, thanks.

This may be the first physical confirmation we've seen that MARCS is finally moving frequencies from the old system to the new in order to increase capacity. Rumor has it that the old system will be down to one or two voice channels per site before long, and stay that way until OSP gets moved to the new system.

How are you all finding the new TGs and Voice/Control channel frequencies?
I live really close to a MARCS and MARCS-IP tower. I'd like to help out if I can.

I find TG's by running Pro96 or Unitrunker but mainly have a HP1 running discovery 24/7. With most Unidens running it in ID search will show any TG's - even unknown.

As for freqs. I use Pro96com.

You need a scanner with discriminator tap or output.
