Ed,

If I was you, I'd post this question on the Uniden Forum.

Well I wasn't sure where to post it. But it only happens with this system.

~~~~
Well I lied. It happens on the other two P25 systems I have in the scanner !
The database has several Alpha Tag's that start with an X.
XLECOMM-1
XMARCS-1
XMTAC-1
What's the X stand for?
For various talkgroups that exist on the TypeII MARCS system, the equivalents are showing up on the P25 system with X prefixed before them in radios.
Think of these as being equivalent to 18-MTAC 1, MARCS-1 and LECOMM-1 on the TypeII system.
Ok, so something's I've learned from system training. The towers for geaugas 800 are now maintained by MARCS so geauga will have access to this system. As far as Solon goes, this is going to be great because in our primary zone on our radios, we will have Bainbridge and GCSO talk groups. It was explained the "x" are used to designate the talk groups upgraded to the new 7x system, if that makes sense. Any other questions I will attempt to answer
Lots of hits on TGID 14036 but unable to tell what/who it was. Male and female users.
I'm getting the same on my end. Lots of garble.
According to the Radio ID's (1891223 and 1891234) this is the same group that did tesing last week on TG14492.
I'm going to take my scanner with me during lunch. I'll be in the Schaaf Road area. For whatever reason I always get clear reception from there.
It's only about a quarter mile from my home, but the difference in reception for this system is amazing.
Good luck Bud. Yes lots of garble here. I did catch a few things. "Where is South Moreland" and things related to cars/vans and their colors.
Great reception on Schaaf Road. What you are hearing is surveillance.
They are identifying the traffic in the area, including people coming and going. Around noon they spotted a drug buy and called it in for a bike to handle it.
The hamburger, pickels and comments on the cars is just chit chat to pass the time.
Where is South Moreland? Shaker Heights, Clevelands eastside.
Last week when I caught bits and pieces on TG14492, they were around University Hospital.
Thanks I figured out after awhile what they where up to but that was the oddist surv I have heard in awhile.
They where very nonchalant about it, not alot of cop talk. I would recommend these 2 TG don't get posted in the DB or at least labeled in a vague manner.
Yesterday I was in Cleveland, reception very poor in VA parking garage-usual as long as system has been on line for that area, and I had both scanners with me, reception poor on both.
Chester & 105th was a little better reception. Best reception I've heard was at CSU Chester & 18th area, clear, and no garbling.
Well it turns out that we were hearing a training class. The car chit chat was about being able to identify the make and model of cars.
The next day I heard traffic regarding the agenda for the day and a question as to what the other training class was going to do.
That was it, I haven't monitored any traffic since then. I have however seen occasional hits (no traffic) on TG14492.
Tg19537
This past week I've been getting periodic hits for TG19537. I wasn't able to clearly copy any traffic.
Tonight, TG19537 was active. Conditions improved enough to get the following.
Three users, two females and one male. Radio ID's 2807663, 2807667 and 2807681. My notes show that Cuyahoga County ID's start with 18 and Lake County start with 43.
One of the female users commented that she was having trouble holding the mike and talking while driving over the speed bumps on Dead Mans Curve. That put her in Downtown Cleveland, Dead Mans Curve connects i90 & Rt2 (the East Shoreway) with i71 south, i77 south and i90 west.
The other female advised that she was going to be getting off at the Wilson Mills exit. That most likely put her on i271.
Several minutes later the female that exited at Wilson Mills reported that she was having trouble getting the bus garage door to open. The places that you could get to in that time frame are Lake County, Geauga County or still in Cuyahoga County.
As mentioned before Lake County's ID's start with 43 and Cuyahoga's 18, any chance that Geauga's ID's start with 28?
Do you think this is GCT (TG 2544 on the Geauga Co Type II trunked system)?
Is there a MARCS-IP site online in Geauga? Somebody needs to scan around. Is Geauga Co scheduled to become join MARCS? Maybe Eric will chime in.
There are two MARCS towers in Geauga County that host both Moto Type II and IP-P25. The first tower is located at 8032A Mayfield Road (P25 license WQME391 part of the first P25 install).
The second tower is located at 7560 Chagrin Road (part of the phase 3 install, license WQOM794).
Both towers are just a couple of miles east of the Cuyahoga County boarder.
Geauga County in conjuction with MARCS has received federal funding for the P25 build out.
Are any of the Geagu MARCS-IP sites online yet? If so, we need to get the information in the database. Somebody should run Unitrunker or Pro96Com on the Lake or Cuyahoga simulcast site occasionally to see if they list a new neighbor [a Geauga neighbor]. Obviously it isn't mandatory that a Geauga P25 site be online if the Geauga agency that you hear is on the border of Cuyahoga and is hitting one of the Cuyahoga simulcast sites. But it sure would be wise for somebody in Geauga Co area to check and see if a site is online.
