While running Unitrunker with an RTL-SDR and listening to the Cuyahoga site 001-1 a second site opened up. It showed to be site 03-129 and listed 3 LCN's 01-1360, 01-1476 and 01-2044. It also showed BEE00-349 MARCS. The talk groups were the normal talk groups for site 001-1. How do I find where this other site is located? I checked RR MARCS for Ohio and the site is not listed. Also is there away of search LCN's? Some may feel this should be on the software defined radio forum, but the question is about MARCS.
Thanks!

My guess is it's a configuration test, perhaps for the impending Tuscarawas County site. Those channel numbers are too high to be 800 MHz channels (could be 700 MHz channel numbers) , and if I recall correctly, SysID 349 is a "test" SID that's been used in the past.

Like the Stark County site, I would not be surprised at all if they repurpose local 700 MHz control channels to the new TusCo site, so they don't have to reprogram control channel lists in radios across the state.

Come to think of it, might not be a bad idea to run UT or Pro96Com on Stark County to see if it's still reporting any 800 MHz control channels as alternates.

62608 TG .. Heard what sounds like alert tones, with an automated voice saying ..
“ This is a test of the ... inaudible .... system, this is only a test ...”
Summit County radio ID 7740342.
Could be testing of the new Akron Fire station alerting system.
Ears up !

I can verify that Avon PD is now on MARCS TG-29515.
Has anyone heard of any other Lorain County PD/FD moving to MARCS?

Ohio State Fair using 5A1 TOW. I'm 3-4 miles away and it's coming in weak, although I am using the crap inexpensive antenna that came with the SDR. 6 TGID's in use. XSCOMM01 most active with security traffic. RID 9001308 is Command Dispatch. Sorry for the late post, but I just found this out. System info: https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=10282 Had been listening to regular Marcs for OSF traffic and was puzzled by the lack of. Mebbe next year... :D

Did you mean 62608 or 62806? 62608 is already listed in RRDB as Bath Police 2. Just making sure a talkgroup didn't get re-purposed.

Thanks!

NEOhio gang,

There's a request to change 13514 from Westcom Fire 3 to Lakewood Fireground as a result of another member monitoring a transmission. Lakewood is part if the COG, but not the center AFAIK. I suspect this was just Lakewood switching to their "fireground", which just happens to be Westcom Fire 3.

Any thoughts?

The only sure way to tell is for someone on the West Side who regularly monitors 13514 and records RID hits on 13514 to confirm which fire departments are using the Talkgroup. Since Lakewood is not dispatched by Westcom the activity of RID's would prove the correct Alpha Tag. I would not change in absence of RID proof of use.

I monitor both Lakewood and Westcom. It's true that TG is used by Lakewood a lot. I haven't been paying attention whether other FDs are also using it but I will start paying closer attention and report back.
