Does each OSHP Post have a tac channel? And, does each district have a similar channel line-up when it comes to districtwide channels?

You'd think that by looking at the database you could determine that. OSHP Posts do have a separate TAC channel, almost always ENC if not always. Each district has at least one EVT channel. But for things like motor carrier enforcement, aircraft, tech, etc I could not say, since it hasn't been widely reported that those types of talkgroups each have a presence in every district.

From what I think I know, Reminderville, both Police and Fire, are on the same talk group
as Twinsburg Police and Fire.
I listen to the Police (45547) and Fire (45545), And have no problems.
It JUST dawned on me that I don't think I'm hearing Reminderville.
Or is it possible I don't know what I am hearing ?
OR are they really on a different talk group (s)

Thanks
Don

Don, you are correct that Reminderville shares TG's with Twinsburg for police and fire. I suggest you load the Reminderville police RID's in your scanner and you will be able to determine who is who. The RID' s are in the Database WIKI. I have not seen RID's for Reminderville fire.

If memory serves me right, Reminderville PD units are 900-series and Reminderville FD units are 2900-series. That’s on the air calls, not RID

I don't believe that Unit ID's show up on a scanner screen. So unless you catch the dispatcher initial call and they dispatch using the Unit number you will not know who the call is for. With RID's they generally show on the scanner LCD during the call. Of course you also could tell who it is if you recognize the address for the call.

Depending on the scanner, the Radio IDs do show up on the scanner display; however, to make that feature useful, you would have to sit there and listen so that you could identify what department each Radio ID belongs to. You would then have to enter them into your scanner (if it's capable) so that the department name pops up on the display when someone from that agency is talking.

I've been doing this for years when I know the ID, but I usually only log radio IDs when 1) I happen to catch it and can write it down, or 2) when I'm really bored....

I am retired and I log over 1,200,000 hits a year. Each day I post them to a spreadsheet and into an Access Database. I am using my PSR500 with Win500 and the Legacy 800 with Control Demo. Both software's capture the RID, TG, time date, etc. So Tom, I don't have to even be home to know which Radio ID's were used on the TG's. I love teaching you youngsters things you don't know! :giggle:

Youngster?? Boy, I wish, but thanks for the compliment!

Actually used Win500 and various other software packages to log stuff myself on many occasions. Problem is, I usually don't have time to go through the resulting log files.....

Lancaster, Ohio MARCS tower on Christmas Rock road seems to have went silent. I can get sheriff and OSP off surrounding towers but not on the one local to me. Anyone heard anything about this? Looking at FCC there are four additional freqs listed for the tower but assume they are maybe receive rather then transmit freqs? I'm not up to speed on exactly what I'm looking at below as to if the database needs an update or if the tower is just off air for repair at the moment.
