MARCS Lorain simulcast system

Has the Lorain county MARCS simulcast system gone online yet?
Have seen site frequencies listed in database but no talkgroup info.
Also have not gotten any hits on discovery mode or searching those frequencies.

Avon and North Ridgeville PD talkgroups are in the database. The Lorain Co Simulcast of MARCS is (or was) online. All sites in the simulcast may not be online . They might not have moved everyone over yet. But make sure you are looking at the right frequencies.

You'd want both the Elyria site (2.7) and the Lorain County Simulcast site (2.23)

I have checked the database, I see no mention of Lorain’s county sheriff or any of the fire departments that were supposed to be using the system. The only lcso tg is interop that has been listed for years.

It might just be that not all of the sites in the same cast cell are up yet. And if that’s the case, then it’s not ready for prime time and not ready for full county coverage. I believe there are plenty of people watching the system, so if there was activity on new talk groups, somebody would be reporting them.

You’re just gonna have to give it time and monitor all the agencies where you used to monitor them before until they switch over

In my monitoring there has been no traffic. There are a lot of devices trying register and so far, everything is denied.

I expect LCSO to be just about the last to move over. Their VHF system works *really* well anywhere in the county, and has been reliable for a very long time. They won't want to move until the system has been proven out with other "less critical" users.
I don't know of any FD's that are moving to MARCS. Several have moved to the CCI 5-city Harris system, others are VHF, and I know some have said they will not be moving off of VHF any time in the foreseeable future.

I haven't heard any traffic there either, but I'm not logging.
It's gonna take time to reprogram radios. That's a lot of radios to add the site into...

County says MARCS will be interoperable with radios it replaced when system goes live

MARCS, as it is known, passed four separate tests over the past six months said Jeff Young, interim director of the county Emergency Management Agency.

Heard the testing all last week. Let's see if the testing talk group will be the Sheriff's
