ADMIN: I ask your forgiveness. I posted this in the Ohio forum and it did not receive many views. Hope more will see it here. THANKS!

I am in dire need of MARCS programming help. I have read the manual for my BCD536HP, watched some programming videos and experimented but am having no luck. I am trying to program in Paulding County sheriff and other agencies since they have all switched to MARCS. Here is what I do (I already have a favorites list heading of Pauling).
On the latest update of Sentinel I click on Database, USA, Ohio, Paulding, Statewide, Ohio MARCS-IP: Multi-Agency Radio Communications, right click on Paulding County (63) and append to favorites list, and when the favorites box shows up I click on Paulding County and select OK. I then write to scanner and when I check the favorites list I have the ENTIRE Ohio MARCS-IP: Multi-Agency Radio Communications list loaded under Paulding County!! The scanner starts going down the county list one by one! I only want the 6 agencies listed under Paulding County.

Thanks for the help

Are you getting all the counties in your favorites list, or all the sites?
It's normal with Sentinel that when you append anything (even if it's just one talkgroup) from a trunked system, you will get all the sites in that system. You just have to delete or avoid all the sites that are not in your area.

What he said....Do you have location control ON for the list? That will restrict it.

BUT - what I do is delete (or avoid) all but a few and assign quick keys to them, normally only have one ON.

Ok i see what Sentinel is doing, it imports ALL the sites when you append to a favorites list, you will need to edit the favorites list and remove all but the Paulding site

i attached an HPE, just remove the .txt at the end so you can see

Thanks for your help. The videos make it look so simple like the guy doing the Dallas one

He is doing the exact same thing I am trying to do and it works for him. When I try to add the 6 departments it gives me hundreds of sites (all 88 counties and the relates sites)! Is this a programming glitch? I do not look forward to editing out hundreds of sites but I suppose it is like taking out the trash, It has to be done.
Thanks again!

You can multi select sites in the right window and remove them

Easy way to do things such as delete multiple sites, etc - click and highlight the one you want to start with, then hold down the SHIFT button and scroll to the last one you want to delete and click it - everything in between the two should highlight, then click delete and they will all be gone.
